James L. Kelley is an original member of the Board of Directors of the Richmond County Savings Foundation. He previously served on the Boards of Directors of Richmond County Savings Bank and Richmond County Financial Corporation.

Mr. Kelley earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from St. Peter’s University and a Juris Doctor from St. John’s University School of Law. He was admitted to practice law in New York State in December 1967 and is also admitted to the Southern and Eastern Districts of the U.S. Federal Courts in New York.

During his legal career, Mr. Kelley served as a court attorney for the Supreme Court in Queens County and later for the Surrogate’s Court in New York County. He subsequently joined the Staten Island law firm Lahr Dillon Manzulli Kelley and Penett P.C., where he became a partner.

He has lectured extensively on trusts and estates for numerous professional organizations, including the Appellate Division, Second Department; the New York County Lawyers Association; the New York State Trial Lawyers Association; the Brooklyn Bar Association; and the Richmond County Bar Association. In recognition of his contributions, he received the Richard D. Lasher Meritorious Service Award from the Richmond County Bar Association.

Mr. Kelley has been actively involved in the Staten Island community, serving on the Boards of Directors of several organizations, including the Visiting Nurse Association of Staten Island, the Noble Maritime Collection, the Staten Island Catholic Youth Organization Advisory Board, the Staten Island YMCA, the Salvation Army Staten Island, and the Richmond County Bar Association. He currently serves on the Boards of the Fred Fugazzi Memorial Award and the Staten Island Sports Hall of Fame.

He is married to his wife, Paula, and they have two children, Kathleen Dempsey and James P. Kelley, as well as four grandchildren.
